Perfume Types

The world of fragrance is vast and diverse, and perfumes come in different forms and styles. From the classic eau de parfum, to the lighter eau de toilette, there is a scent to suit everyone.

Eau de parfum (or ‘perfume’ in its more literal French translation) is one of the most popular and recognisable type of perfumes. An eau de parfum (or ‘EDP’ for short) is the fullest and richest form of fragrance available and offers more intense and longer-lasting scent, with a concentration of around 15-20%. The main advantage of an EDP, over other forms of fragrances, is its rich and lingering smell that can often last for up to twenty-four hours.

Eau de toilette (or ‘EDT’) is slightly lighter than an EDP and has a lower concentration of perfume oils, ranging anywhere from 5-15%. As it is lighter and has less intense notes, an EDT is suited to daytime wear and often requires less application than an EDP.

Eau de cologne (or ‘EDC’) is the lightest form of fragrance and often has the least concentrated amount of scent. However, due to its lightness, an EDC works in warm weather and can often be sprayed liberally over the body as desired.

Finally, there are many other types of fragrances, such as eau fraiche, body sprays, perfumed lotions and oils, and solid perfumes such as balms and scents.

Therefore, whether you’re looking for an eau de parfum for an evening out, or a light and refreshing eau de cologne for the warmer weather, there is something for everyone at With a range of the best fragrances available, you’re sure to find the perfect scent to add to your collection.
